“...Here at Youthsafe we understand that to make a real impact on youth injury we have to enlist the help of others.”

We work with and support people and organisations involved with young people across NSW, including:

  • Community based professionals e.g. teachers, youth workers, health professionals, road safety officers and police
  • Policy and decision makers
  • Parents and volunteers e.g. sporting coaches
  • Media

We provide these groups with the latest information on youth injury priorities and effective prevention strategies and support the community based professionals to develop interventions that are suitable for the young people in their communities.

In order to provide up to date information to these groups, we have developed strong links with research bodies at the forefront of youth injury prevention research. We source relevant research from these bodies and then disseminate it in a way that is useful to our target audiences.

Youthsafe also works directly with young people through our Presenter Program. In this program the focus is on RISK – what it is, the consequences of dangerous risk taking and how to manage risks encountered everyday.

An integral part of all our work, no matter who we are working with, is advocacy. We advocate for youth injury prevention with all the organisations and groups we communicate with.
