We provide these groups with the latest information on youth injury priorities and effective prevention strategies and support the community based professionals to develop interventions that are suitable for the young people in their communities. Youthsafe is a not for profit organisation and peak body for ‘preventing serious injury in young people’ aged 15 to 25 years in NSW. Being independent we have the freedom to address safety across the range of settings where young people are at risk of unintentional injury including on the roads, in workplaces, while playing sport and socialising. "...We care about the safety of young people..." We want young people to live happy, fulfilled and exciting lives free from the limitations associated with a serious injury. We know that many of these injuries are preventable and we are committed to making a positive difference to youth injury in NSW. To us safety is about being proactive, taking initiative and constantly improving our ability to assess and manage risk. Our work is underpinned by our values –
“...Here at Youthsafe we understand that to make a real impact on youth injury we have to enlist the help of others.” Who we work with:
We provide these groups with the latest information on youth injury priorities and effective prevention strategies and support the community based professionals to develop interventions that are suitable for the young people in their communities. In order to provide up to date information to these groups, we have developed strong links with research bodies at the forefront of youth injury prevention research. We source relevant research from these bodies and then disseminate it in a way that is useful to our target audiences.
