Safe Celebrating
We all know that parties and celebrations are important to young people. They provide them with an opportunity to socialise, meet other young people and to celebrate significant life events. But while parties are important for social development reasons, they can also bring into play a range of risk factors that work together to increase the risk of injury to young people.
Youthsafe has been working with individuals and organisations from across NSW to investigate the risks associated with youth parties and approaches to help make them safer. Whilst these risks have implications for a range of youth health issues, our prime concern is their impact on unintentional injuries both in the party setting and travelling to and from the party, especially on our roads.
