What’s the Plan? - School Presentation PDF Print E-mail

What's the plan? is a 50 minute, interactive session for young people exploring:

  • Injury risks associated with youth celebrations; and
  • How to avoid a serious injury while spending time with friends, no matter how big or small the occasion.

Ideal of class-sized groups, it is facilitated by Youthsafe presenters with extensive knowledge about young people, safe celebrating and evidence-based injury prevention education.

The session's overall aim is to reinforce the importance of planning before going out and to have back up strategies in case something goes wrong.

The session uses life skills-based education techniques to support participants in managing injury risks and in developing positive knowledge, attitudes and skills in:

  • Planning
  • Safe celebrating strategies
  • Decision making
  • Young driver and passenger safety
  • Communication and negotiation with parents, peers and others of influence
